Add to Doctor’s Release section:
If a contestant that is entered in the Team Roping is injured and provides a proper Doctor’s Release his/her partner or partners entered at the rodeo where Doctor’s release is used will use one of the following options: #1: Replace the injured partner with someone who is entered in the rodeo in another event or is not entered the maximum number of times in the Team Roping allowed at that rodeo. #2: Be excused from competing at the rodeos that their partner uses the Doctor’s Release without being assessed any turnout fine or pay entry fees. If any of the rodeos are “entered twice" and the non-injured partner is also entered with someone besides the injured contestant they will not be excused from those runs.

When 2 head and a short go are given making it a three head average $25 of each entry fee will go into the short go payoff and the number of places paid will be based on 6 or less contestants 2 places will be paid, 7-11 will pay three places and 12 or more will pay 4 places. The average will pay one and one-half ( 1½ ) times what the first two go rounds pay. The correct calculation after deducting the short go money is to take the remaining total prize money and divide by seven ( 7 ) then multiply the result by two ( 2 ) to get the prize money in each go round and multiply by three ( 3 ) to get the prize money in the average.

All figures are after the 10% sanction is taken out.
New Rule wants to take Steer Wresting out of the rule and put in a stand along rule that reads:
Steer wrestling only
1-4 pays 1 place (100%)
5-10 pays 2 places (60-40%)
11-16 pays 3 places (50-30-20%)
17-25 pays 4 places (40-30-20-10%)
26-40 pays 5 places (30-25-20-15-10%)
41-70 pays 6 places (29-24-19-14-9-5%)
71 & over pays 8 places (23-20-17-14-11-8-5-2%)

Barrier Rules Page, 106 Rule 1
Add a clarification: Not crossing in initial move may include but not limited to- Animal turning back before crossing scoreline behind line judge or lineman opposite the line judge, stumbles, falls or not pulling the barrier or neck rope not breaking off of animal’s neck.
New rule to read:
10. Stock must cross scoreline in front of line judge in their initial move after leaving chute. Failure to do so will result in animal being brought back and rerun. in the opinion of the Rodeo Judges, that failure to cross scoreline in the initial move out of chute was caused by contestant, hazer or heeler. A ten (10) second penalty may be assessed on the rerun. Add a clarification: Not crossing in initial move may include but not limited to- Animal turning back before crossing scoreline behind line judge or lineman opposite the line judge, stumbles, falls or not pulling the barrier or neck rope not breaking off of animal’s neck.

Page 115 Rule 3 Reads: Tie must hold for five (5) seconds and THEN be passed on by the field judge. Roper must not touch calf after giving finish signal until after judge has completed his inspection.
Page 116, Rule 7 Reads: A stopwatch will be used by the field judge. Calf must stay tied securely for five (5) seconds. Judge will not start this five (5) second period until roper has remounted horse and given calf complete slack. (Clarification: Rope must lay on ground, not just touch it.) Should the roper or his horse take the slack out of the rope during the five (5) second time period, the roper will be disqualified. However, judge may waive five (5) second period to give calf air and roper will still receive time.
New Rule: Calf must remain tied for ( 5 ) five seconds, time to start after contestant has completed the tie and takes one ( 1 ) step away from calf.
Notes from Steve Ratchford:
Something to consider: If calf comes untied and runs around and has to be rethrown that seems more abusive to spectators. Contestants rushing back to horse to speedup the process many times causes horse to run backwards hence run dragging the calf more. Consider this if new dragging rule passes.
